We are looking to add an Advanced Analytics Analyst to the team at Worthington Steel. The Corporate Advanced Analytics Analyst is an individual contributor who applies established standards and possesses a foundational knowledge of analytics principles. This entry-level role is part of Worthington Steel's Advanced Analytics Rotational Program, designed to develop well-rounded analysts who understand business functions and actively drive improvement.

Through a series of 2–3 month rotations across various business areas, the analyst will partner with different teams to identify manual processes, automate reporting, reduce waste, strengthen data foundations, and modernize workflows. Each rotation will include hands-on project work, automation assessments, and process improvement initiatives. At the end of each rotation, the analyst will deliver a short summary report highlighting key learnings, business insights, and measurable improvements.

This role contributes to important projects by providing business analytics services that develop new insights and understanding of business performance through data and statistical methods. The position also delivers actionable analyses and recommendations to management based on a strong understanding of business models and available data assets. The analyst will use data, statistical and quantitative analysis, and decision-support tools to drive business impact, working independently while responding positively to instruction and coaching.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build user-friendly reports, dashboards, and decision-support tools to maintain a high level of stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Perform statistical analyses, including descriptive, diagnostic, exploratory, correlation, regression, and forecasting.
  • Partner with business units during each rotation to identify automation opportunities and deliver process improvements.
  • Summarize key outcomes from each rotation, including business knowledge gained, automation delivered, and modernization achieved.
  • Support the growth of Advanced Analytics and contribute to strengthening the organization's analytic culture and literacy.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Desired Experience

  • Ability to apply fundamental concepts in Advanced Analytics, Predictive Modeling, and Data Science to enable fact-based decision making.
  • Familiarity with visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI) and statistical software (Python, R, Alteryx, SAS, or SPSS).
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills; demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Fundamental understanding of statistical concepts and methods, with an aptitude for continual learning.
  • Ability to execute multiple projects concurrently using a defined and repeatable process.
  • Exhibits curiosity and initiative to learn about all functional areas and help drive analytics adoption.

This role is based on-site at Worthington Steel's headquarters in Columbus, Ohio. Candidates must be available to work in person during standard business hours (Monday through Friday, approximately 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m)
