Expert Technical Solutions (ETS) is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize modern data platforms that support enterprise analytics and business intelligence initiatives. This role focuses on creating scalable, cloud-based data architectures, developing robust data pipelines, and ensuring reliable, high-quality data across the organization.

The Senior Data Engineer will play a key role in architecting new database solutions, driving migrations, and optimizing performance within PostgreSQL and Snowflake environments. You will partner closely with analytics, BI, and engineering teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions while supporting data governance, security, and quality initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Architect and implement new databases and data platforms to meet business and technical requirements
• Design, build, and maintain scalable ELT/ETL pipelines and data models to support analytics and reporting
• Manage and optimize database environments, including provisioning, performance tuning, and access controls
• Implement automation and workflow orchestration to support reliable and repeatable data deployments
• Ensure data quality, consistency, and compliance through monitoring, validation, and governance practices
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements, estimate effort, and deliver business-aligned solutions
• Troubleshoot complex data and performance issues and recommend system improvements
• Develop and maintain clear documentation for data architectures, pipelines, and processes
• Mentor junior data engineers through technical guidance, code reviews, and best practices

Requirements

• Strong experience designing and building enterprise-scale databases and data platforms
• Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL and Snowflake, including performance optimization
• Proven experience building and optimizing ELT/ETL pipelines for complex data sets
• Experience with dbt for data transformation and modeling
• Experience working with cloud-based architectures and workflow orchestration tools
• Proficiency with Git and modern version control practices
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis skills
• Excellent communication skills and experience working in agile, cross-functional teams
• Working knowledge of Python preferred; familiarity with data visualization concepts is a plus

Preferred Experience

• 10+ years of hands-on experience working with relational databases and data systems
• Experience designing and implementing data platforms from the ground up
• Background supporting data governance, security, and data quality initiatives
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
