Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic and passionate Sommelier Beverage Manager to elevate our wine and beverage program to new heights. In this dynamic role, you will lead the wine selection, oversee beverage service, and ensure an exceptional experience for our guests. Your expertise in fine dining, hospitality management, and team leadership will drive the success of our beverage offerings while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and customer satisfaction. Duties
- Curate and manage an extensive wine list, ensuring a diverse selection that complements our culinary offerings and meets guest preferences
- Lead staff training on wine service, food pairing, and beverage knowledge to enhance guest experiences and staff expertise
- Oversee beverage inventory control, ordering, and stock rotation using POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS to optimize profitability
- Supervise daily beverage operations, including shift management, cash handling, and ensuring compliance with food safety standards
- Collaborate with kitchen and bar teams to coordinate food and beverage production, ensuring seamless service during busy periods such as banquets or catering events
- Conduct staff interviews, onboarding, and ongoing development to build a skilled, motivated team committed to excellence
- Monitor customer feedback and resolve any service issues promptly to uphold our reputation for outstanding hospitality
Requirements
- Proven experience in fine dining or casual dining environments with a strong background in wine and beverage management
- Extensive knowledge of food preparation, food handling, and kitchen operations within a restaurant or hotel setting
- Hands-on experience with POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for sales processing and inventory management
- Demonstrated leadership skills in supervising teams, managing shifts, and training staff in a fast-paced environment
- Strong understanding of food safety protocols, budgeting, and food production processes within the food industry
- Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to engage guests professionally and courteously
- Previous experience in restaurant management or hospitality management roles with responsibilities including interviewing, training & development, and staff supervision
- Culinary or bartending experience is highly desirable; familiarity with bar operations including barista or coffee experience is a plus
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately while maintaining high standards of hospitality
The interview will be held in person at the Silk Restaurant between 2 PM and 6 PM. You are welcome to come and introduce yourself.
