Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented EDM Machinist to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate and set up Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) equipment to produce precision components that meet strict quality standards. Duties

• Operate and set up EDM machines, including sinker and wire EDM equipment, ensuring precise execution of complex machining tasks
• Develop and modify CNC programs using CAD software to optimize machining operations for accuracy and efficiency
• Interpret detailed blueprints, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications, and technical drawings to produce high-quality parts
• Conduct routine maintenance and calibration of EDM machinery using precision measuring instruments such as bore gauges, calipers, micrometers, and vision systems
• Utilize hand tools, power tools, and tooling to prepare workpieces and troubleshoot machining issues effectively
• Collaborate with engineering teams to review designs created in CAD software like SolidWorks and translate them into machine-ready programs
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols by using appropriate PPE and following lockout/tagout procedures during machine setup and maintenance

Requirements

• Proven experience operating EDM machines with a strong understanding of electrical discharge machining principles
• Proficiency in CNC programming, especially with Mitsubishi controls or similar systems
• Solid knowledge of blueprint reading, GD&T standards, and mechanical drawings
• Familiarity with CAD software such as SolidWorks or general CAD tools for design review and modifications
• Basic math skills for calculating dimensions, tolerances, and machining parameters
• Experience working with CNC milling machines, lathes, or other machining equipment is a plus
• Ability to use precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and vision systems for quality inspection
• Mechanical aptitude combined with manufacturing experience in plastics injection molding or similar industries is desirable
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot tooling issues or machine malfunctions quickly
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating effectively within a team environment

Pay: $ $40.00 per hour
