Duties

• Assist with the preparation of ingredients, including washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning to support cooking processes.
• Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen equipment in accordance with health and safety standards.
• Support chefs in assembling dishes and plating food items efficiently and accurately.
• Ensure proper storage of ingredients and supplies, monitoring expiration dates and organizing storage areas for easy access.
• Follow all safety protocols, including proper handling of knives, hot equipment, and cleaning chemicals.
• Help with inventory management by restocking supplies and notifying supervisors of low stock levels.
• Participate in routine cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, dishwashing, and waste disposal to uphold hygiene standards.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure timely food preparation during busy service hours.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is essential.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting heavy objects safely.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining cleanliness and safety standards.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team-oriented environment.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed.
• Knowledge of basic food safety regulations is a plus but can be provided through training.
