Job Summary
Hudson Pet Hospital our goal has always been to assemble a veterinary health care team committed to providing exceptional care for our patients and to create a positive experience for our clients. We are a family-owned clinic (for over 15 years) located in Hudson, WI, with a focus on small animals.

We are seeking a full-time (preferred) or part-time Veterinary Technician (certification not required) to join our practice. Our ideal candidate would have excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task. Able to work independently and in a team environment as well as venipuncture proficiency is a must. Prior veterinary technician experience is required, we are not looking for veterinary assistants at this time.

Clinic hours are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 8am-5pm, and Tuesday 8am-6pm

Duties

  • Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgeries by preparing instruments and equipment.
  • Perform IV catheter placement, dental prophy, anesthesia monitoring, surgical site preparation.
  • Perform routine laboratory tests, including blood work and urinalysis.
  • Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian.
  • Monitor animal patients' vital signs and overall health during procedures.
  • Provide animal restraint during examinations and treatments to ensure safety.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic or hospital environment.
  • Educate pet owners on proper animal care, nutrition, and health maintenance.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of animal anatomy and physiology.
  • Proficient in animal restraint techniques to ensure safety during examinations.
  • Experience in dog handling with a focus on behavior management.
  • Familiarity with aseptic techniques to maintain sterile environments during procedures.
  • Previous experience as a veterinary technician is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to perform laboratory tasks accurately and efficiently.
  • Ability to induce, intubate, and maintain anesthesia is preferred.
