Sales Associate

Overview
We are seeking a friendly and motivated Sales Associate to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills, a strong understanding of retail sales, and the ability to assist customers with product selection and transactions. This role offers an engaging environment where you can develop your sales skills and contribute to a positive shopping experience for our customers. Bilingual abilities are a plus, as well as prior experience in grocery stores or retail settings.

Duties

• Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional customer service
• Operate POS systems efficiently for sales transactions, cash handling, and returns
• Conduct product demos to educate customers about features and benefits
• Assist with merchandising, stocking shelves, and maintaining an organized store layout
• Upsell products to maximize sales opportunities while ensuring customer satisfaction
• Manage inventory levels and assist with stock replenishment
• Maintain proper phone etiquette when assisting customers via phone or online inquiries
• Support supervising staff with training new team members and overseeing daily operations when needed
• Perform cashiering duties accurately, including handling cash, credit card transactions, and balancing registers at shift end

Qualifications

• Prior experience in retail sales, grocery stores, or similar environments preferred
• Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with diverse customers
• Bilingual skills are advantageous for serving a broader customer base
• Familiarity with POS systems, cashiering, and basic retail math concepts
• Demonstrated ability to upsell products and perform merchandising tasks effectively
• Excellent phone etiquette and customer service orientation
• Supervising experience is a plus for candidates interested in leadership roles
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate loads as needed
• Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately
