General Maintenance Technician

We are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented General Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on maintenance experience with a strong ability to troubleshoot and diagnose issues across multiple trades. This position supports a 49-unit apartment complex and requires someone who can work independently, prioritize tasks, and maintain a professional demeanor with residents and staff.

Preferred Experience:

• Electrical repair and troubleshooting
• Plumbing: leaks, clogs, fixture replacement, basic repairs
• HVAC/AC: ability to diagnose and perform light repairs
• General maintenance: drywall, painting, minor carpentry, appliance repair, preventative maintenance

Responsibilities Include:

• Responding to work orders in a timely and professional manner
• Diagnosing issues accurately and completing repairs efficiently
• Performing routine inspections and preventative maintenance tasks
• Keeping maintenance areas and shop organized and clean
• Communicating repair needs that require outside contractors
• Assisting with unit turn arounds and preparation for move-ins
• Maintaining safety standards and following all property policies

Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Valid Louisiana driver's license and reliable transportation
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical tasks
• Strong attention to detail and follow-through
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision
• Previous experience in apartment maintenance or similar environment preferred

Hours & Compensation:

• 24–32 hours per week
• Pay based on experience
• Flexible schedule; some on-call availability may be required
