FIDELITY MANUFACTURING is part of the backup Power Generation Industry. We design and build back up power packages (to include tanks and enclosures) for large and small health, industrial, and technology-oriented businesses that cannot have a power lapse at any time.

Job Summary

The Senior Cost Accountant is responsible for analyzing manufacturing and operational costs, preparing cost reports, and ensuring accurate cost accounting records. This role plays a key part in inventory valuation, developing internal controls, and variance analysis to support management decision-making and financial performance improvement.

Essential Job Functions

• Maintain and analyze cost accounting systems, cost standards, and cost records.
• Prepare and review monthly cost reports, margin analyses, and manufacturing performance metrics.
• Perform detailed inventory analysis, reconciliations, and valuation adjustments.
• Analyze variances between actual and standard costs, identify trends, and provide actionable insights.
• Support forecasting processes with detailed cost data and projections.
• Collaborate with operations, procurement, and production teams to ensure cost efficiency and process improvements.
• Prepare journal entries related to inventory and cost accounting; ensure accuracy of general ledger postings.
• Assist with internal and external audits related to inventory and cost accounting.
• Evaluate cost accounting procedures and recommend process enhancements or system improvements.
• Support management with ad hoc financial analysis and special projects.

Qualifications

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
• CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification a plus

Experience:

• 3-5 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and standard cost accounting principles.
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar).
• Epicor Kinetic ERP system experience is preferred.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to work in fast paced environment

Working Condition

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Work environment is an office atmosphere. Work could also involve some outside exposure. May be exposed to noise, dust, fumes, airborne particles, smoke (Not over OSHA Permissible Exposure Levels). Safety training is provided in accordance with applicable law, industry standards and company policy. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
