As an LPN, you will play a vital role in patient flow, safety, and comfort—particularly during pre-procedure preparation and post-procedure recovery. IV certification is required.

Duties

  • Admit and discharge patients, ensuring accurate documentation and patient readiness.
  • Conduct medication reviews, confirming current medications and identifying any discontinued or recently changed prescriptions.
  • Review patient medical history and provide clear handoff communication to RNs and providers.
  • Monitor patients recovering from sedation, ensuring stability, safety, and adherence to discharge protocols.
  • Administer medications and treatments as ordered by providers.
  • Monitor and document vital signs, including blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate, and oxygen saturation.
  • Assist with procedure preparation and support providers and RNs during pain-management treatments and injections.
  • Maintain sterile technique and assist with clinical procedures as needed.
  • Ensure accurate and timely charting of all patient care activities.
  • Provide patient and family education related to discharge instructions, follow-up, and medication use.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant clinical environment according to safety standards.

Requirements

  • Valid LPN license in the state of practice.
  • IV Certification (required).
  • Experience in pain management, ambulatory surgery, recovery, or ICU settings preferred but not mandatory.
  • Proficient in monitoring vital signs and identifying changes in patient status.
  • Strong understanding of pre-op and post-op patient-care principles.
  • Ability to safely assist patients with mobility, transfers, and physical support when needed.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
