Medical Technologist (PRN)

Stonewall Memorial Hospital District has been dedicated to providing compassionate healthcare to our community since 1965. We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Medical Technologist to join our laboratory team on a PRN basis, offering flexible coverage to support our laboratory operations as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform complex laboratory tests and analyses accurately and efficiently to support patient diagnosis and treatment.
  • Ensure proper calibration, maintenance, and quality control of laboratory equipment.
  • Follow established protocols and safety procedures to maintain a safe and compliant laboratory environment.
  • Document test results accurately and communicate findings to medical staff in a timely manner.
  • Assist in troubleshooting technical issues and implementing process improvements.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of laboratory work areas.
  • Collect and process patient specimens following established protocols.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment and report any malfunctions.
  • Document and communicate test results promptly and accurately.
  • Comply with all regulatory standards, including CLIA and CAP requirements.
  • Assist in maintaining inventory of laboratory supplies.

Requirements:

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in medical technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related field.
  • Certification as a Medical Technologist (ASCP, AMT, or equivalent) preferred.
  • Proven experience performing laboratory tests in a clinical setting.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent analytical skills.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally for equipment or supply handling.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of laboratory safety standards and quality assurance procedures.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
