Our Client has an immediate need for an Inventory Control Clerk.
The successful candidate will have at least 3 years of continual employment and experience in this role. You will have a demonstrated work history in logistics and warehouse systems management.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the successful candidate will oversee the Inventory of the warehouse. This is accomplished through a comprehensive analysis of inventory transactions to identify problems, recommend solutions and drive implementation of improved practices.
Principal Accountabilities:
(The following is intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed. It is not an exhaustive list of all expectations):
- Maintain inventory data integrity and track accuracy of inventory
- Research the root cause of inventory discrepancies by extracting data and using supplier inventory data.
- Design implement and test internal controls, documentation, reporting, training, systems and solutions to drive inventory accuracy.
- Establish partnership with clients and operations to build inventory accuracy
- Develop and maintain cycle counts activities/annual count by leading counting activities, variance reporting and reconciliation of cycle counting.
- Challenge the status quo by developing and recommending modifications to existing processes and methodologies with a constant focus on continuous improvement
- Develop and manage and implement weekly analysis reporting
- Ensure compliance with OHS procedures and practices.
- Supervision of all staff under your direct or indirect control.
- Follow established food safety protocols and procedures.
- Participate in food safety training sessions and follow instructions to ensure compliance with food safety regulations.
- Report any food safety concerns or issues to the manager immediately.
Knowledge and Skills
(The following minimum requirements are normal guidelines and should not constrain the advancement of otherwise qualified personnel):
- 3 – 5 years in a fast-paced environment with a proven track record
- Familiar with WMS systems, and good working knowledge of MS Office (excel)
- Team oriented individual able to work constructively and cooperatively with team members as well as with other departments
- Strong attention to detail and quality focused
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills with an ability to conduct the root cause analysis and proactively analyze findings and identify opportunities for improvement
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- A high degree of initiative and the ability to work in a team environment are essential
- Excellent knowledge of overall warehousing processes
- Strong computer skills
Requirements
Qualifications
- Proven experience in warehouse management, inventory control, or supply chain management roles.
- Strong data analysis skills with proficiency in SQL, Power BI, Tableau, or similar analytics platforms.
- Knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP, AS400, or equivalent warehouse management systems.
- Familiarity with procurement processes, sourcing strategies, and supplier management.
- Experience with demand planning, MRP systems, and logistics operations including shipping & receiving.
- Ability to perform root cause analysis and implement process improvements effectively.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail; ability to handle heavy lifting when necessary.
- Strong communication skills for negotiation and collaboration across departments.
- Warehouse experience including materials handling equipment operation (forklift certification preferred).
- Ability to analyze complex data sets for financial modelling, pricing strategies, and supply chain optimization.
