Overview

**This position is contingent upon contract award**

SOSi is seeking an experienced Assistant Facilities Director for Support Services to oversee all detainee services at a federal detention facility in West Texas. The Assistant Facilities Director will be responsible for ensuring the safe, secure, and effective delivery of support services, including recreation, medical and wellness resources, religious services, visitation, telephone access, legal resources, and records management. This role supports facility startup and operations and works in close collaboration with the Assistant Facilities Director for Operations to ensure seamless integration of services under the leadership of the Facility Director.

Essential Job Duties

  • Oversee the implementation of on-site activities, outcomes, and service delivery quality to meet objective needs and standards as outlined in the scope of work.
  • Support facility startup operations with a focus on detainee services workflows.
  • Manage overall delivery and resources for on-site activities such as recreation, religious services, and visitation and telephone use.
  • Ensure team performance meets quality benchmarks across the facility and that all activities conform to current customer and NDS standards.
  • Facilitate and oversee the delivery of legal resources with dedicated spaces, video conferencing, and law library access, monitoring outcomes and team efficiency for confidential communications.
  • Maintain confidential records management, including case files and property storage per United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement/National Archives and Records Administration standards, with oversight of team performance and quality assurance.
  • Coordinate with component leaders to ensure that all activities are safe, secure, and effective, working with facility leadership to maintain accountability and resources.
  • Collaborate with the Assistant Facilities Director for Operations on cross-functional integration.
  • Report progress and issues to the Facility Director, recommending process improvements and corrective actions.
  • Conduct regular internal reviews and audits to verify compliance and improve operational efficiency.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, rehabilitation and health administration, social services, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in support services for detention, correctional, or healthcare facilities.
  • Expertise in federal standards, including National Detention Standards.
  • Demonstrated skills in resource management, records confidentiality, compliance auditing, and team performance oversight.
  • Ability to obtain required clearances for sensitive information handling.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • Professional certification in project management (e.g., PMP) or federal contracting.
  • Experience managing services under federal contracts.
  • Bilingual proficiency (e.g., English/Spanish) for effective communication in a diverse environment.
  • Proven experience in risk management and compliance auditing for large-scale operations.
