About the Role

The Golf Course Superintendent oversees all aspects of golf course maintenance, including staff leadership, agronomic programs, resource management, budgeting, and environmental initiatives. This position requires a balance of operational excellence, ecological awareness, and outstanding communication skills.

CourseCo, Inc. is seeking an experienced Superintendent to lead maintenance operations for The Golf Club at Rio Vista—an 18-hole, year-round championship course designed by renowned architect Ted Robinson Sr., and recognized multiple times by Golf Digest as a "Best Places to Play" destination.

Key Responsibilities

· Manage all golf course maintenance, including clubhouse landscaping and the entrance road

· Oversee budgeting, purchasing, and equipment maintenance

· Direct fertilizer and pesticide applications

· Manage trees, water features, and lake systems

· Lead efforts toward Audubon Certification and community outreach

· Communicate effectively with staff, ownership, vendors, golf professionals, and community members

· Educate local groups about turfgrass and environmental management

Qualifications

· Minimum 3 years' experience as a Golf Course Superintendent

· Degree in turf management (2- or 4-year) preferred

· Strong agronomic expertise, people management, and water management skills

· Experience maintaining Poa annua/bentgrass greens and Bermuda/Rye fairways

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Proven ability to build relationships and manage diverse stakeholders

· Spanish language skills preferred

· Passion for sustainability and environmental best practices

Compensation & Benefits

· Salary: $90,000–$110,000 DOE

This position reports directly to the General Manager.
