Work Location: Washington DC (metro area)

l The Solution Architect ensures applications and servers are built with best practices, reusability, and an understanding of how to use technology to best meet business needs. The role mirrors Amtrak's commitment to provide support to ensure projects are designed and built to support the Enterprise Architecture.
l The Solution Architect demonstrates the ability to think and operate on both the strategic and tactical levels (e.g., He/she is able to devise a short-term solution that complements the longer-term goals).
l He/she serves as a Change Agent who effectively challenges the status quo and helps the team embrace improved methods and newer technologies.
l He/she will be responsible for meeting and presenting to the Enterprise Architecture Review Council to gain approval and advice from all areas of IT to ensure sustainable services and applications are created.
Requirements
l - Bachelor's degree, specialized training, or equivalent work experience
l - Requires eight (8) to fifteen (15) years of experience in multiple IT areas.
l (5) to seven (7) years of relevant technology architecture experience
l - Hands on Network Access Control (NAC) experience to coincide with required years of experience
l - Hands on Cisco ISE experience to coincide with required years of experience
l - Hands on Cisco DNA experience to coincide with required years of experience
Preferred
l Well-grounded in state-of-the-art principles of architectural modeling, service-oriented architecture, enterprise information management and software design and development
l Solution Architect for two or more large-scale, heterogeneous IT programs.
l Demonstrated success at developing solutions that solve business problems
l Demonstrated experience in the design and implementation of an SOA and Services in an enterprise setting
l Transportation Industry experience
l Broad IT experience in networking technologies
l Demonstrated knowledge of an EA frameworks
