We are seeking motivated Material Handlers to join our bustling logistics hub in Atlanta, Georgia. As a Material Handler, you will play a crucial role in the efficient movement of goods within our distribution center. Your primary responsibilities will include receiving, storing, picking, and shipping materials, ensuring that all tasks are completed accurately and safely. This role is essential for maintaining the smooth flow of operations and meeting customer demands. You will be operating various equipment and working in a fast-paced environment where teamwork and attention to detail are paramount. Our commitment to safety means you'll receive comprehensive training on proper handling techniques and the use of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and verify incoming shipments.
- Sort, organize, and stock materials in designated warehouse locations.
- Pick orders accurately based on pick lists or system generated orders.
- Pack orders securely for shipment, ensuring product integrity.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment to ensure proper working order.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all warehouse safety guidelines.
- Assist in maintaining inventory accuracy through proper handling and counting procedures.
- Participate in the loading of outbound shipments.
- Follow all established procedures for material handling and Logistics.
- Adhere to all company Safety regulations.
- Ability to perform tasks involving frequent Lifting of boxes and materials.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or material handling role is a plus.
- Ability to operate forklifts and other powered industrial trucks is an advantage.
- Familiarity with warehouse safety procedures and the use of PPE.
- Strong work ethic and ability to work in a team environment.
- Excellent physical condition and stamina, capable of sustained Lifting (up to 50 lbs).
- Basic understanding of Logistics and inventory principles.
- Must be reliable and punctual.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
