Join our team as a Shipping Clerk in Minneapolis, Minnesota! This role is central to our logistics operations, ensuring that all outgoing shipments are processed accurately and efficiently. You will be responsible for preparing orders for dispatch, documenting shipments, and coordinating with carriers. Maintaining a safe and organized shipping area is a key aspect of this position. We are looking for a meticulous and reliable individual to fill this critical role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Pick, pack, and stage orders for shipment according to specifications.
- Verify accuracy of items and quantities against shipping orders.
- Prepare shipping labels, bills of lading, and other necessary documentation.
- Coordinate with freight carriers for timely pickups and deliveries.
- Load outgoing shipments onto trucks, ensuring securement.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shipping area.
- Conduct regular inventory checks for shipping supplies.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the correct use of PPE.
- Assist with receiving duties as needed, supporting the overall logistics function.
- Perform other duties as assigned to ensure smooth warehouse operations.
Qualifications:
Previous experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a similar warehouse role is preferred. Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 40 pounds and standing for extended periods. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills are essential. Familiarity with shipping software and carrier portals is a plus. Understanding of logistics and supply chain principles. Must be committed to maintaining a safe work environment and wearing required PPE. Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Must be reliable and able to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
