Join our dynamic team as a Picker/Packer in Chicago, Illinois! This role is essential for our distribution center's success, focusing on accurately and efficiently fulfilling customer orders. As a Picker/Packer, you will be responsible for locating products within the warehouse, carefully picking them according to order specifications, and then packaging them securely for shipment. Your attention to detail and speed will directly impact our customer satisfaction rates. We prioritize a safe working environment and provide all necessary PPE . This position involves considerable Lifting and requires the ability to stand and walk for extended periods. We are looking for organized, motivated individuals who can thrive in a fast-paced Logistics setting. You'll work collaboratively with other team members to meet daily targets and maintain operational efficiency. A strong commitment to Safety protocols is non-negotiable. Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick items from warehouse shelves based on order lists.
- Inspect items for damage or defects before packing.
- Package items securely and efficiently for shipment.
- Apply shipping labels and prepare orders for dispatch.
- Operate hand-held scanners and warehouse equipment.
- Maintain a clean and organized packing station and work area.
- Adhere strictly to all Safety policies and procedures.
- Wear and utilize all provided PPE correctly.
- Contribute to overall Logistics efficiency and speed of order fulfillment.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including occasional Lifting of boxes.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in picking, packing, or a similar warehouse role is advantageous.
- Ability to perform regular Lifting (up to 40 lbs).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Familiarity with warehouse environments and basic Logistics .
- Commitment to maintaining a high level of Safety .
- Ability to stand, walk, and be physically active throughout the shift.
- Must wear appropriate PPE , such as safety shoes and gloves.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
