Are you an experienced and safety-conscious Forklift Operator? We have an excellent opportunity for you in Virginia Beach, Virginia! As a vital member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for operating forklifts to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise within our distribution center. Your efficient and safe operation of equipment is crucial to maintaining the flow of goods and ensuring operational productivity. Safety is paramount in our operations; you will be expected to strictly adhere to all safety regulations, including the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and demonstrate expert knowledge of forklift operation best practices. The ideal candidate will possess a valid forklift certification, a strong understanding of warehouse logistics, and a commitment to maintaining a secure working environment. You will collaborate with warehouse associates to ensure seamless operations and timely order fulfillment. This role involves significant physical activity, including regular lifting and the precise maneuvering of heavy loads. We emphasize the importance of proper lifting techniques even when using equipment to ensure the safety of yourself and others. Your attention to detail will be key in ensuring accurate placement of goods and preventing damage. Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach truck) to move materials.
- Load and unload trailers and containers.
- Transport goods to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Stack and store merchandise in appropriate locations.
- Perform pre-operation inspections on forklifts and report any issues.
- Assist with inventory management and cycle counts.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety standards.
- Utilize required PPE at all times.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification.
- Proven experience operating various types of forklifts.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Understanding of warehouse safety procedures and logistics.
- Ability to perform physical tasks and occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Strong attention to detail and mechanical aptitude.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
