Seeking a skilled Forklift Operator for our San Francisco, California distribution center. If you have a proven track record of safe and efficient forklift operation and a commitment to warehouse excellence, we want to hear from you! This role is critical for moving, locating, relocating, stacking, and counting merchandise within our facility. Your expertise will ensure the smooth flow of goods, contributing directly to our logistics operations.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate various types of forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) to move, load, unload, and stack materials.
- Transport raw materials, finished products, and packed items within the warehouse.
- Perform pre-operation inspections of forklifts and report any defects or maintenance needs promptly.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring clear pathways for safe operation.
- Assist with inventory management tasks, including cycle counts and stock placement.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Load and unload trucks efficiently, ensuring product integrity and safety.
- Follow all instructions from supervisors and logistics managers regarding material movement.
- Contribute to a safe and productive warehouse environment through diligent work practices.
- Accurately record movement of materials using warehouse management systems or logbooks.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification and demonstrable experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or logistics setting.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proficiency in navigating warehouse environments and understanding load capacities.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and practices.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to adhering to all safety regulations.
