We are seeking a diligent Receiving Clerk for our busy Philadelphia, Pennsylvania distribution center. In this essential role within our logistics network, you will be responsible for the accurate and efficient unloading, inspection, and processing of incoming shipments. You will verify counts against purchase orders, identify any damages, and ensure that all incoming goods are properly logged into our inventory system. This position requires a keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining the integrity of our stock. Working closely with suppliers and internal teams, you will play a key part in ensuring that our warehouse operates smoothly. Safety is a top priority; all employees are required to follow strict safety protocols and utilize appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). The role involves significant physical activity, including regular lifting of goods. Responsibilities:
- Unload incoming trucks and verify shipment contents against purchase orders and invoices.
- Inspect incoming goods for damage or discrepancies.
- Accurately record received items into the inventory management system.
- Tag and stage received products for put-away by other warehouse staff.
- Communicate any issues with incoming shipments to supervisors and suppliers.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area.
- Operate basic warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of PPE.
- Perform regular lifting of items, which may range in weight.
- Contribute to efficient logistics operations by ensuring timely and accurate receiving.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in receiving, warehouse, or logistics is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including frequent lifting, standing, and bending.
- Basic computer skills for data entry into inventory systems.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Understanding of safety procedures and the importance of PPE.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
