In this position, you will be instrumental in the movement of goods throughout our warehouse, ensuring that materials are staged, transported, and prepared for shipment accurately and efficiently. Your responsibilities will include operating forklifts and other material handling equipment, loading and unloading trucks, and maintaining an organized workspace. Safety is paramount in this role; you will be expected to adhere strictly to all safety guidelines and properly utilize required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This job involves regular lifting and requires the physical stamina to handle various materials. A keen understanding of logistics and warehouse operations is beneficial. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and trailers.
- Move materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Verify quantities and identify any damaged materials.
- Assist in maintaining inventory accuracy.
- Ensure that all work areas are clean, organized, and safe.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of PPE.
- Support shipping and receiving operations as needed.
- Participate in team efforts to achieve warehouse goals.
- Perform tasks requiring manual lifting of materials up to 50 lbs.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar role.
- Valid forklift certification is a plus.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including frequent lifting and bending.
- Familiarity with warehouse safety procedures and the importance of PPE.
- Understanding of basic logistics principles.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Must be reliable and punctual.
