We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Sterile Compounding Pharmacist to join our pharmacy team. The ideal candidate will be responsible to preparing and dispensing sterile medications in accordance with all regulatory standards, ensuring the highest quality of patient care. This role requires a strong understanding of aseptic technique, sterile compounding practices, and a commitment to maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
*JOB DUTIES*
* *Sterile Compounding: *Prepare and compound sterile medications and other specialty formulations, adhering to USP and standards.
* *Quality Assurance: *Conduct routine quality control checks and participate in the development and implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
* *Patient Safety: *Monitor and assess the stability and compatibility of compounded sterile preparations, ensuring patient safety and effective therapeutic outcomes.
* *Training and Education: *Train and mentor pharmacy technicians and interns on sterile compounding techniques and safety protocols.
* *Inventory Management: *Oversee the procurement and management of sterile compounding supplies and medications, ensuring compliance with inventory control practices.
* *Collaboration: *Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize medication therapies and provide clinical consultations.
* *Documentation: *Maintain accurate records of compounding activities and document any adverse events or discrepancies in accordance with regulatory requirements.
* *Continuing Education: *Stay current with advances in pharmacy practice and sterile compounding, participating in continuing education opportunities as required.
*Qualifications*
* *Education: *Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited institution.
* *Licensure: *Current state pharmacist license in good standing.
* *Experience: *Sterile compounding experience preferred but not required.
* *Skills: *Strong attention to detail and ability to perform complex calculations. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in pharmacy software and technology.
* *Certifications: *Certification in sterile compounding is preferred.
* *Drug Test: *Negative drug test required.
*Physical Requirements*
* Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights.
* Manual dexterity for performing compounding procedures and handling equipment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $65.00 per hour
