Synergize Consulting are now hiring for an Embedded Software Engineer to work at a leading defence client on a contract basis.
The successful candidate will support a number of high-profile development programmes and will work in a multi-faceted role that includes the design, development, test and support of current and future workstreams.
Responsibilities
Support the specification, design, coding and testing of complex Real Time Embedded software in Ada, producing quality software, to high integrity levels, company standards and customer requirements.
Take ownership of complex tasks across the full software life cycle from requirements to integration, testing and delivery.
Collaborate with hardware, firmware, and systems engineering teams, working closely across disciplines to develop robust solutions whilst maintaining working independence.
Experience required
Strong software engineering background, which includes significant work with the Ada programming language and OO design principles.
Expert skills in debugging within Embedded Real Time environments.
Strong working knowledge of UML
Experience of requirements engineering, hands-on integration and target testing.
Excellent working knowledge of developing software within a mature development process framework.
Previous experience within the defence sector would be desirable but not essential
Usage of tools such as Dimensions, DOORS, Rhapsody would be beneficial to the role
Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with technical and non-technical teams.
Due to the nature of the client, it would be an advantage for candidates to hold, or be eligible and willing to undergo, a certain level of security clearance (SC).
