We're excited to be recruiting for 2 part time Front Desk Agents at our beautiful Microtel Inn & Suites in Portage la Prairie.

These positions will be overnight shifts, as well as evenings and weekends. Applicants must be available to work over night from 11:00pm-7:00am and Evening Shifts from 3:00pm-11:00pm.

Microtel Inn & Suites, managed by Sparrow Hotels and owned by Long Plain First Nation, is situated on the Keeshkeemaquah Reserve near Portage La Prairie. This 75-room hotel features complimentary breakfast, a pool with a waterslide, a hot tub, and a fitness center. It also offers meeting space for up to 60 guests and houses Kookums Korner & Market. Guests can enjoy scenic views of Crescent Lake and are conveniently located near the Keesh Gaming Centre and the National Indigenous Residential School Museum of Canada.

Job Overview:

The Hotel Front Desk Agent serves as the first point of contact for guests, ensuring a welcoming and positive experience from arrival to departure. Responsibilities include managing check-ins and check-outs, handling reservations, addressing guest inquiries and requests, and resolving issues to ensure guest satisfaction. This role requires excellent communication and multitasking skills, as well as proficiency in hotel software systems. The ideal candidate is personable, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering exceptional customer service.

Duties:

· Check guests in, issue room keys, provide information on hotel services and room location.

· Ensure valid identification is taken from guests at check-in

· Answer phones in a prompt and courteous manner

· Up-sell rooms where possible to maximize hotel revenue

· Answer all guest calls, messages, requests, questions or concerns

· Record guest preferences in the PMS system

· Check guests out, including resolving any late or disputed charges

· Accurately process all guest transactions using established procedures

· Communicate any outstanding guest requests or issues to management that may require additional monitoring.

· Take action to solve guest problems/complaints using appropriate service recovery guidelines.

· Ensure all credit cards and debit transactions balance

· Must be available to work flexible shifts, holidays and weekends

What you bring to the table:

· Proven experience in front desk operations or customer service roles within the hospitality industry.

· Positive and hardworking attitude

· Strong phone etiquette with excellent communication skills.

· Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude.

· The ability to stay focused in a high volume, fast paced industry and ensure accuracy and procedures are followed.
