Role Description
We're looking for a
Digital Ads Specialist
with strong technical expertise to support a full-service marketing agency in the Waterloo Region. This role is focused on
building, managing, optimizing, and reporting on digital ad campaigns
across Google and Meta for multiple client accounts.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with
Google Ads, Google Business Profiles, Meta Ads Manager, audience targeting, conversion tracking, A/B testing, and performance analytics
. You should feel confident setting up campaigns from scratch, writing effective ad copy, recommending creative direction, and continuously optimizing for ROI.
What You'll Do
- Set up, manage, and optimize Google Ads (Search, Display, YouTube) and Meta Ads campaigns
- Update and optimize
Google Business Profiles
and ensure accuracy and visibility - Conduct keyword research, competitor analysis, and audience targeting
- Write clear, conversion-focused
ad copy
; suggest creative needs to the design team (design experience is an asset but not required) - Set up and manage tracking (UTMs, Pixels, Conversions, Events)
- Monitor daily/weekly performance and adjust bids, budgets, and audience segments
- Create monthly analytics reports with actionable insights
- Identify issues, troubleshoot technical errors, and proactively recommend improvements
- Stay up to date on platform changes, algorithm updates, and best practices
Who You Are
- Experienced with
Google Ads
and
Meta Ads
, ideally 2+ years - Strong technical aptitude and able to troubleshoot independently
- Comfortable analyzing data and translating insights into decisions
- Confident writing ad copy that converts
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with minimal oversight
- Familiar with responsive ad formats, campaign structures, and optimization strategies
- Experience with SEO, CRO, or landing page optimization is a bonus
- Based in Ontario, Canada, ideally Guelph/Kitchener/Cambridge/Waterloo area
Role Type & Compensation
This is a
project-based part-time contractor role
,
$30–$40/hour (CAD)
depending on skills and experience.
The work is primarily remote; however, occasional onsite collaboration for strategy meetings or content capture may be requested.
