This position has a term length of 12 months from the start date.

Location - This role is in-person at North Campus, Edmonton.

Position Summary

The Procurement and Contract Management Stores Operation is located on the 3rd floor of the Medical Sciences Building. The store operation provides support to students, researchers and teaching activities by ordering, inventorying and selling consumable items including chemicals, labware, solvents, glassware, cleaning and office supplies and personal protective equipment.

Hours of work - Wednesday and Thursday, 11 am to 4 pm (additional flexibility may be required)

Finance, Procurement and Planning is responsible for financial reporting, resource planning, procurement, investments & treasury, and risk management & insurance. We have a team of service partners who work closely with the faculties, units and staff across the institution to provide excellent client service.

The role of Storeroom Inventory Support is responsible for:

  • Placing orders with suppliers
  • Receiving orders from suppliers
  • Varying the quantities received against the packing slip
  • Updating the inventory management system to reflect quantities received
  • Unpacking and stocking the shelves with the new inventory
  • Reviewing, picking and filling current orders
  • Counter Sales support
  • Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
  • The Support staff will be required to complete the appropriate Health, Safety + Environment (HSE) safety training courses (e.g. Working Safely, Laboratory and Chemical Safety, WHMIS, etc.)

  • High school education

  • Inventory management experience would be an asset
  • Experience with Microsoft Office including Excel and Word will be an asset
  • Related safety training will be provided by the University
