Responsibilities
OVERALL PURPOSE:

The Maintenance Assistant maintains and updates work orders in the system; provides administrative support to shift scheduling for maintenance employees in the assigned department(s); maintains records of time sheets for maintenance employees in the assigned department(s); provides administrative and clerical support to maintenance managers, supervisors and department staff; facilitates processes to deal with unmatched invoices and/or compiling back-up documents to support an expenditure; prepares the Maintenance Division shift sign-up sheets and seniority lists for all maintenance departments. Maintains and updates training and qualifications records for department staff including the maintaining of training schedules, training records, and preparing related reports.

Education
Qualifications
Requires completion of Grade 12 along with courses in clerical skills, typing and Microsoft Office.

Experience
Requires three (3) years of clerical experience, with previous experience in:

maintenance of a large number of manual and computerized files and records pertaining to maintenance, purchasing, inventory and stores.

scheduling, and/or activities involving knowledge of SkyTrain, and where organizational and analytical skills have been gained.

A period of up to three (3) months on the job is required to become familiar with various systems such as Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), Dayforce for timekeeping, Enterprise Asset Management (EAM), records, forms, and procedures. In addition, thorough knowledge of collective agreement is required as it pertains to payroll and hours of work for scheduling.

Recruitment Process: An applicant will be required to demonstrate their suitability for this position by meeting the minimum level of qualifications and experience in order to be invited into the selection process. A standard interview format will be used including general, scenario and behavioural descriptive interview questions.

Work Schedule
40 hours per week.

Work Designation
Resident

This position works predominately on-site.

Rate of Pay
Wage: $40.84 per hour

Please note: All new employees will be subject to a 6-week trainee rate at 75% of the hourly rate with the remainder of the first year at 90% of the hourly rate.
