As a general manager, you work with the board of directors by leading the caisse, tapping into the full market potential and meeting the needs and expectations of members and clients. You are responsible for the high-level strategic and operational management of the caisse. You build and maintain long-term business relationships with clients. You draw on your business insight. You develop and implement a business plan to meet the caisse's performance targets, and you are accountable for the results. You draw on your strategic mindset and ability to drive results to effectively manage employees and performance. You work with Desjardins partners, help set objectives and contribute to action plans. In doing so, you help Desjardins achieve its objectives. You manage employees and oversee their skills development. You ensure service quality and member/client satisfaction. The ability to build effective teams and develop talent is therefore essential. You serve as contact person for your teams and provide advisory services and specific recommendations that take the diverse needs of members and clients into account. The complex work associated with your entity requires extensive knowledge of the organization and your line of business. You are a strategic and inspiring leader. You play a key role in helping managers and employees embrace change. You support the board to ensure the caisse develops along with Desjardins Group. In keeping with the organization's values, you adopt a Desjardins mindset and ensure that your decisions and daily actions revolve around member/client satisfaction. More specifically, you will be required to:

  • Uphold Desjardins's cooperative values.

  • Direct, guide and motivate caisse managers and employees, and foster their development and engagement.

  • Be a change ambassador and build agile teams to better serve members and clients.

  • Help promote the Desjardins brand and the caisse in the community.

  • Support the caisse's sales management and business development for personal and business client groups, and actively contribute to Desjardins's business development.

  • Be responsible for the overall quality of services and business relationships, and for managing the member/client experience within the caisse's market.

  • Maximize the caisse's growth and performance, ensure optimal productivity, and help maintain Desjardins's financial stability.

  • Be accountable for risk management and compliance activities.

  • Ensure the high-level strategic and operational management of the caisse.

What you bring to the table

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field

  • A minimum of nine years of relevant experience

  • Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered

  • Knowledge of French is required
