Position Summary — The Community Engagement Associate is responsible for supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of events. Duties include tasks like venue research, vendor management, budget tracking, and on-site logistics. Event promotion, registration, and post-event analysis and ensuring events run smoothly and meet the needs of organizers and attendees.
Essential Functions
An individual in this role must be able to perform the following functions with or without reasonable accommodation:
- Supports the Community Events Coordinator in all event details
- Researches and recommends venue options
- Coordinates with vendors
- Manages timelines and event schedules
- Handles onsite logistics including set-up and breakdown
- Oversees event registration and attendee management
- Provides excellent customer service
- Assists with the development of marketing materials
- Manages event promotion efforts
- Collects feedback and evaluates event success
- Helps coordinate volunteers
- Maintain a welcoming environment

QualificationsQualifications
Experience: At least one (1) year of experience with expertise in more progressively responsible experience in communications, community outreach, marketing, or a related area.
Education: HS Diploma/GED/specialized skills or certifications above and beyond Associate. Associate's degree is preferred. Relevant experience will be taken into consideration in the absence of a degree.
Licenses & Certifications: Valid State Driver's License and insurable driving record.

Work Environment & Physical Demands
- Exposure to normal office environment with occasional visits to program sites.
- Capacity to maintain high concentration levels and work long, irregular hours as needed.
- Ability to travel for training, leadership development, and other events.
- Relocation within 60 miles of Catawba Nation Tribal Offices.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds, handle paperwork, and operate office machinery.
