Application Developer

We're seeking an Application Developer to build a modern web application with a chat‑based user interface and a robust document‑processing workflow. You'll develop intuitive UI components, implement secure APIs, integrate databases and schemas, and own quality through testing, debugging, and technical documentation. This role is ideal for a full‑stack developer with advanced Python and JavaScript skills and practical experience integrating Azure services.

Location: Across USA

Status: Contract (Fully Remote)

Responsibilities:

• User Interface development (chat‑based interface): Design and implement responsive, accessible chat components and supporting UI flows for conversations, actions, and notifications.
• Database integration & schema implementation: Define relational/NoSQL schemas; implement data access layers, migrations, indexing, and performance tuning.
• API development for document processing: Build RESTful endpoints to orchestrate ingestion, validation, parsing/extraction, metadata enrichment, and persistence; implement robust error handling and logging.
• Testing & debugging: Create unit/integration tests; automate in CI; profile and fix performance issues across front‑end and back‑end components.
• Documentation: Produce clear, maintainable technical docs—architecture diagrams, API specs, data models, and runbooks.
• Collaboration: Work closely with product, UX, and other engineers; participate in code reviews and agile ceremonies.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience: 

• Full‑stack development (Advanced): Demonstrated end‑to‑end delivery of production applications.
• Programming (Advanced): Python (e.g., FastAPI/Flask/Django) and JavaScript/TypeScript (e.g., React/Angular/Vue).
• Azure services integration (Intermediate): Practical experience wiring apps to Azure services (e.g., Functions, App Service, Storage/Blob, Cosmos DB, Key Vault, API Management) and managing configuration/secrets.
• Database design & implementation (Intermediate): Designing schemas; writing performant SQL/NoSQL queries; implementing migrations and data validation.
• UI/UX implementation (Intermediate): Building accessible, responsive interfaces; applying design systems; ensuring WCAG‑compliant interactions for chat‑based workflows.
• Soft skills: Attention to detail, strong problem‑solving, clear technical documentation, and effective team collaboration.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with Azure DevOps/GitHub Actions CI/CD, containerization (Docker) and IaC (Terraform/ARM).
• Knowledge of message/queueing patterns (e.g., Azure Service Bus/Queues) for workflow orchestration.
• Experience with document extraction/OCR pipelines and secure file handling.
• Familiarity with observability stacks (logs, metrics, tracing) and performance profiling.
• Exposure to security & auth (OAuth/OIDC, RBAC), API gateway patterns, and rate limiting.
