APP Surgical Care - Oncology (Undiagnosed & Melanoma Clinics)

  • Outpatient Only
  • Full-Time, 40 hr/wk (1.0 FTE)
  • Monday - Friday

Nebraska Medicine is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) to join our Surgical Oncology team in a unique role that blends innovation with collaborative patient care. This APP will spend 50% of their time helping develop and launch our brand-new Undiagnosed Clinic, working closely with faculty to shape workflows, support clinic growth, and ensure an exceptional patient experience. The remaining 50% will support our established Melanoma Clinic, partnering with established physicians who are committed to teaching and ongoing APP development.

Duties: APP Surgical Care - Oncology (Undiagnosed & Melanoma Clinics)

Provide comprehensive care to individuals with oncologic conditions requiring surgical intervention including gastrointestinal, endocrine and breast cancers. Assess and evaluate for acute conditions requiring emergent care. Diagnose medical conditions, plan and implement interventions, and evaluate patient responses in collaboration with a designated supervising physician. Perform and assist with diagnostic and therapeutic medical and/or surgical procedures.

Required Qualifications: APP Surgical Care - Oncology (Undiagnosed & Melanoma Clinics)

Nurse Practitioner

  • Master's degree in nursing from an accredited school/college of nursing required.

  • Minimum of two years RN experience or equivalent combination of RN and nurse practitioner experience combined (two years of RN experience equals one year of APRN experience) required.

  • Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Nebraska or current compact state required.
  • Currently licensed as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Practitioner (APRN) required.
  • Appropriate certification required based on position, department and population served:

Adult Inpatient

  • Adult Gerontology Acute Care (AGACNP-BC)
  • Adult (ANP-BC)
  • Family (FNP-BC)
  • Adult Gerontology Primary Care (AGPCNP-BC)

Adult Outpatient:

  • Adult Gerontology Primary Care (AGPCNP-BC)
  • Adult (ANP-BC)
  • Family (FNP-BC)

Physician Assistant

  • Master's degree from an ARC-PA approved Physician Assistant program OR bachelor's degree with ten years of current active Physician Assistant experience and approval from the Director of the Office of Advanced Practice OR if bachelor's degree with less than ten years current active experience sign a written agreement consenting to obtain a Master's degree from an ARC-PA approved Physician Assistant program within three years from date of
