This position is located at the SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) - Office of Mental Health, Beckman Center for Mental Health Services, 1547 Parkway Greenwood, SC 29646.
Responsibilities for the Administrative Assistant:
- Provide supervision and oversight to the supportive functions of the Greenwood Clinic.
- Adhere to Access to Care Protocols to include - Complete C-20's as appropriate, manage a will-call list, make appointment reminder calls. Manage scheduling for all telehealth and clinic-based patient appointments and prescription requests.
- Review appointment portal daily, ensuring patients receive reminders and reschedule patients as needed.
- Provide professional and courteous customer service to include - Answer the telephone timely and manage routine calls appropriately, greet/orient clients and visitors to the clinic, ensure patients and visitors are seen for appointments timely. Maintain a neat and orderly lobby.
- Accurately collect and enter data related to clinical services, documentation, financial and third-party billing information and other records for the CIS system on all new intakes and existing patient records. Accurately and timely process the above referenced data in compliance with OMH and Beckman Center policies and procedures as well as Quality Assurance and Corporate Compliance standards.
- Comply with Division of Financial Services policies and procedures.
- Ensure that patients receiving a self-pay reduction have submitted appropriate documentation. Complete yearly financial updates on each client in accordance with OMH Department of Financial Services and Beckman policies and procedures.
- Collect self-pay charges and make deposits in accordance with OMH Department of Financial Services policies and Procedures.
- Provide oversight to medical records requests. Ensure adherence to the OMH Privacy Practices Directive.
- Adhere to policies and procedures according to Corporate Compliance, Fire and Safety, and CARF. Demonstrate cultural competency. Comply with OMH Directive No , "Employee Drug Testing Program."
- A bachelor's degree and one (1) year responsible clerical or administrative experience; an associate's degree and two (2) years responsible clerical or administrative experience; or high school graduation and five (5) years responsible clerical or administrative experience.
- Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus.

Position is considered essential and may be called back during crises/disasters/emergencies.
