About MYTT
Mentoring Youth Through Technology (MYTT) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to inspiring, educating, and mentoring youth ages 6–18 through the power of technology. We serve communities across the Greater Chicago area and Northwest Indiana to empower them to become innovators rather than consumers.
About the Role
Mentoring Youth Through Technology (MYTT) is expanding its STEM and STEAM programs for youth ages 6–18. We're looking for a Program Director who can lead programs, support instructors, strengthen school and community partnerships, and ensure high-quality learning experiences for students in underserved communities.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in youth development, enjoys building strong teams, and is energized by bringing STEM opportunities to communities that need them most.
What You'll Do
- Lead and manage all MYTT after-school STEM programs, robotics clubs, camps, and community events.
- Oversee program schedules, curriculum, enrollment, attendance, and student outcomes.
- Hire, train, and support instructors, program staff, volunteers, and interns.
- Build positive relationships with schools, partners, families, and students.
- Track program data and prepare reports for grants, funders, and internal leadership.
- Monitor program budgets and coordinate materials, technology, and supplies.
- Support planning and execution of STEM Days, competitions, summer camps, and community events.
- Collaborate with the Executive Director on program expansion and strategic initiatives.
Success in Your First Year Looks Like…
In your first 12 months, you will aim to:
- Increase program enrollment and attendance consistency across sites.
- Implement a standardized curriculum and reporting system for all STEM programs.
- Build and maintain strong school and community partnerships with regular communication.
- Achieve positive student feedback and measurable improvements in engagement and outcomes.
- Develop and onboard a reliable, trained team of instructors and volunteers.
What You Bring
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Youth Development, STEM, Nonprofit Management, or related field.
- 3–5 years of experience managing youth programs or nonprofit initiatives.
- Experience supervising staff or volunteers.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work onsite for programs, including some evenings and Saturdays.
- Reliable transportation and the ability to travel between sites.
Preferred
- Experience with STEM/STEAM programming or robotics.
- Experience with grants or funded programming.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish).
Why This Role Matters
You'll play a critical role in expanding access to technology education, ensuring that a child's zip code never limits their opportunities. If you are motivated by equity, youth empowerment, and hands-on leadership, we'd love to meet you.
