Summary of Duties: The Electrical Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems, wiring, fixtures, and equipment in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC), local building codes, and company safety standards. This role includes troubleshooting electrical issues, performing routine inspections and preventive maintenance, and supporting upgrades, remodels, and new construction projects. The position also involves collaborating with other departments to minimize operational disruptions, responding to emergency calls, maintaining accurate documentation, managing inventory of supplies, and mentoring less experienced team members as needed. This position performs duties with or without direct supervision and serves as a general facilities technician when electrical specific work is not required.
Position Purpose: The Electrical Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment throughout the casino and resort property. This role ensures a safe, efficient, and reliable operation of all electrical components, including lighting and power systems, to support a seamless guest and team member experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Strong understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local building codes.
Knowledge of electrical systems, components, and equipment used in commercial and industrial settings.
Familiarity with safety procedures and regulations related to electrical and general maintenance work.
Basic understanding of HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, and general building systems. Knowledge of tools, materials, and techniques used in both electrical and facilities maintenance.
Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
Skilled in diagnosing and repairing electrical issues using appropriate testing equipment.
Ability to perform preventive maintenance and routine inspections.
Competent in using hand and power tools safely and effectively.
Strong organizational and documentation skills for tracking work orders and inventory.
Effective communication and teamwork skills for coordinating with other departments.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
Ability to respond quickly and effectively to emergency situations.
Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and work in physically demanding environments.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and perform a variety of maintenance tasks beyond electrical work.
Ability to mentor and guide apprentices or junior staff.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and uphold professional standards in a sensitive operational environment.

Education/Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED required.
Completion of a state-approved apprenticeship program or equivalent formal training.
Valid Journeyman Electrician license or certification as required.
Minimum of 1 year of experience in commercial or industrial electrical work.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
Valid driver's license.
Must be able to obtain and maintain the required Gaming License.

Position involves prolonged walking, stooping, bending, lifting, and carrying up to 50 pounds daily.

Must be able to maintain focus and professionalism in a dynamic and fast-paced setting.
