Weekend Cook

Valley Vista is a recovery-focused residential treatment facility committed to providing a supportive and healing environment for individuals on their path to recovery. Nutritious, thoughtfully prepared meals are an essential part of that mission.

We are currently seeking a reliable and compassionate Part-Time Cook to join our culinary team on weekends.

Position Overview

The Cook is responsible for preparing nutritious, well-balanced meals that meet the dietary needs of our residents while maintaining a safe, clean, and organized kitchen environment.

Schedule

• Part-Time
• Saturday & Sunday
• 5:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. (8-hour shifts)

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals that are nutritious, appealing, and compliant with dietary requirements
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen and food prep areas
• Assist with inventory tracking and proper food storage
• Accommodate special dietary needs and provide alternatives as required
• Communicate effectively with staff and residents regarding meal needs and preferences
• Support special meals or events as needed

Qualifications

• Previous cooking experience required; healthcare or residential facility experience preferred
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and dietary guidelines
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate, resident-focused approach
• Culinary certification or degree is a plus, but not required

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $ $26.85 per hour

Expected hours: 16 per week
