SUMMARY: Cleans and sterilizes dishes, utensils, and all other equipment used to process or store products such as food or beverages by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned
- Assists with unloading carriers and carts from satellite kitchens. Prepares returned pans and utensils for dishwasher.
- After dishwasher has run through cycle, stores all dishes, trays and utensils in proper location.
- Mops dishwasher area as needed to prevent accidents.
- Reports dishwasher problems to Supervisor immediately.
- General cleaning of coolers, freezers, dishwasher and storerooms as required.
- Assists with the maintenance of the trash and garbage in a neat and orderly fashion.
- Washes, dries and folds linen from all schools.
- Assists with final sweeping and mopping of kitchen floor surface.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and fumes or airborne particles. The employee is frequently exposed to vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic and caustic chemicals, extreme heat, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.

DRUG FREE WORKPLACE: Screening tests for alcohol and illegal drug use may be required before hiring and during your employment in School District #1. Employees of Lewistown School District #1 must submit to a fingerprint criminal background check. Any appointment will be contingent upon the results of the criminal background report received from the Department of Justice, which must be acceptable to the Board of Trustees, in its sole discretion.
