Requirements

Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Meet the assisted living requirements for criminal history screening
  • Pass Abuse Registry Check (where applicable)
  • Pass required drug/alcohol screenings
  • Have adequate education, relevant training, or experience to provide for the needs of the residents

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Activity Planning: Assists by collaborating with the Activity Director who designs and implements a diverse and enriching calendar of activities, events, and programs tailored to the interests and abilities of senior residents.
  • Resident Engagement: Interact with residents on a daily basis, fostering relationships and understanding their individual preferences, needs, and limitations to ensure their participation and enjoyment.
  • Event Coordination: Assists by collaborating with the Activity Director and facilitates a variety of activities, including exercise classes, arts and crafts, music and entertainment, educational workshops, and outings to stimulate mental, emotional, and physical well-being.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of activity attendance, resident preferences, and provide feedback to the Activity Director to evaluate the success of programs and make necessary adjustments.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with other staff members, such as caregivers, and dining staff, to ensure seamless coordination of activities and provide a holistic care approach.
  • Safety and Accessibility: Ensure that all activities and events are conducted in a safe and accessible manner, taking into consideration the unique needs and mobility levels of residents.
  • Equipment and Supplies: Assist in maintaining activity-related equipment, supplies, and materials, ensuring they are clean, organized, and readily available.
  • Communication: Assist in keeping residents and their families informed about upcoming events and activities through personal interactions.
  • Cultural Sensitivity: Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and adapt activities to accommodate diverse backgrounds and preferences among residents.
  • Marketing & social media: Taking Photos of residents and events for website and social media
  • Sincere interest in providing quality, compassionate and innovative services for seniors
  • Ability to understand the policies and procedures of the Community including emergency plans
  • Follow mandatory reporting requirements and Resident Rights
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Self-motivation and problem-solving skills
  • Must be comfortable with technology and the use of software programs
  • Ability to multi-task with an attention to detail, prioritize and have excellent time management
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service skills
  • Travel Requirements: Local Travel is required with good drivers record

Physical Requirements:

This is a physically active position.

Ability to walk throughout the Community continually throughout the day and to participate and demonstrate physical exercises including the use of basic exercise equipment available in the fitness areas. Push and pull wheelchairs and other equipment up to 300 pounds. Visual and auditory acuity within normal limits. Bending, kneeling and occasionally reach above the shoulder level and carry up to 25 pounds. Ability to use a handheld device. Ability to correctly use wheelchair lift in community bus.

Additional Requirements:

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. English skills to allow communication with residents and staff; and to give and understand written and verbal instructions. Attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Must have compassion for the elderly and be self-motivated. Must be comfortable with technology and the use of various software programs.

Pay: $ $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 30 per week
