Position overview:

FEI is looking for a Solutions Architect with exceptional technical leadership skills and expertise in designing complex, integrated solutions across multiple domains. Our Solutions Architect will lead cross-system architecture initiatives, establish and influence technical standards across the organization, and guide multiple development teams toward cohesive technical solutions. This role requires someone who can see the big picture across business domains while ensuring individual systems work together seamlessly in our .NET and AWS serverless environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and architect integrated solutions that span multiple business domains and systems, ensuring seamless data flow and system interoperability
  • Establish and evangelize technical standards, patterns, and best practices across development teams and projects
  • Lead architectural reviews and decision-making processes for complex, multi-team initiatives
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand enterprise-wide requirements and translate them into comprehensive technical strategies
  • Guide and mentor Software Architects and development teams on cross-system integration approaches and architectural patterns
  • Design and oversee implementation of enterprise integration patterns, APIs, and data exchange mechanisms
  • Lead evaluation and selection of technology platforms, frameworks, and tools that impact multiple systems
  • Create and maintain enterprise-level architectural documentation, including solution blueprints, integration diagrams, and technical roadmaps
  • Participate in strategic technology planning and provide input on organizational technical direction
  • Drive resolution of complex technical issues that span multiple systems or require architectural changes
  • Champion adoption of Domain Driven Design principles across domain boundaries and system integration points
  • Lead initiatives to reduce technical debt and improve system maintainability across the technology portfolio
  • Represent technical architecture in client meetings and stakeholder discussions

Required Experience:

  • Proven ability to design integrated solutions across multiple business domains with complex system interdependencies
  • Advanced expertise in .NET development with demonstrated experience architecting enterprise-scale, multi-system solutions
  • Extensive experience with AWS serverless technologies and designing distributed systems using Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, EventBridge, and other AWS services
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and influence technical standards across development teams and projects
  • Strong experience leading architectural decision-making for complex, multi-team initiatives
  • Deep understanding of enterprise integration patterns, API design, and microservices architecture
  • Proven track record of mentoring architects and senior developers on complex technical challenges
  • Experience with Domain Driven Design (DDD) applied to multi-domain system integration and bounded context management
  • Expertise with Test Driven Development (TDD) and establishing testing strategies across integrated systems
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences including executives and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience with event-driven architecture and designing loosely coupled, resilient distributed systems
  • Strong background in database design and data architecture across multiple persistence technologies

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in healthcare, government, or highly regulated industries with complex compliance requirements
  • Knowledge of HIPAA, FedRAMP, or other compliance frameworks at an enterprise level
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code and automating deployment of complex, multi-system solutions
  • Background in enterprise architecture frameworks (TOGAF, Zachman, etc.)
  • Experience with advanced AWS services (Step Functions, AppSync, Cognito, Systems Manager, etc.)
  • Knowledge of data integration patterns and experience with ETL/ELT processes
  • Experience with performance optimization and scalability planning for enterprise systems
  • Background in Agile/SAFe methodologies and leading architecture in scaled agile environments
