Our technicians are responsible for installing industry-leading environmental monitoring infrastructure—MET towers, sensors, data loggers, power systems, solar arrays, communications hardware, and auxiliary instrumentation for top-tier clients in the renewable-energy sector.

About the Role

As a Field Installation Technician, you will:

• Install complete MET station systems, including towers, mounting hardware, weather sensors, pyranometers, reference cells, communication devices, and power systems.
• Interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, site plans, and equipment schematics.
• Perform field fabrication, alignment, leveling, and system verification.
• Work independently and as part of a small team to complete installations on tight schedules.
• Prepare field reports, photo documentation, and quality-control checklists.
• Travel extensively across the United States; projects may include multi-week assignments.
• Represent PowerWise with professionalism and reliability while interacting with clients on-site.

Preferred Experience

While not required, the following experience is highly preferred:

• Prior MET Station installation work
• Field service, renewable-energy, communications tower, utility-scale solar, or instrumentation background
• Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, ladders, and lifting equipment
• Familiarity with environmental sensors (wind, temperature, irradiance, soiling, etc.)
• Understanding of basic electrical wiring and low-voltage systems
• Experience working outdoors in variable weather conditions
• Military veterans strongly encouraged to apply — veteran preference is given due to the job's alignment with field discipline, logistics, and mission-oriented work

Requirements

• Ability to read and follow technical drawings and installation diagrams
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Willingness to travel nationwide on short notice
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, and work at height
• Must be comfortable working outdoors in rough terrain and changing climates
• Professional, reliable, team-oriented mindset

Compensation & Structure

• Per diem position with paid travel expenses
• Competitive daily rate based on experience
