Hotel General Manager – Job Description

We are seeking a dependable, hands-on Hotel General Manager to lead daily operations at a select-service hotel. We are open to candidates who have not previously been a GM — training will be provided for the right individual with strong leadership and hotel experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily hotel operations to ensure a smooth and consistent guest experience
• Lead, train, and support hotel staff across front desk, housekeeping, and maintenance
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, and brand compliance
• Respond to guest concerns and resolve issues with professionalism and promptness
• Manage staffing needs, scheduling, and basic HR responsibilities
• Ensure proper handling of cash, audits, and front desk procedures
• Monitor and manage expenses and labor costs within budget guidelines
• Coordinate with maintenance to ensure preventative maintenance and timely repairs
• Oversee vendor relationships, service contracts, and inspections
• Maintain compliance with brand standards and local regulations
• Assist with basic local sales efforts and community engagement

Requirements

• Prior hotel supervisory or management experience (GM experience not required)
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Understanding of front desk and housekeeping operations
• Ability to motivate teams and maintain a positive work environment
• Familiarity with hotel PMS systems
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including some weekends or holidays

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in select-service or limited-service hotel environments
• Experience with branded hotel systems (Hilton, Marriott, IHG, Wyndham, Choice, etc.)

Pay: $80, $110,000.00 per year
