Job Summary:
The Development Associate serves as a staff member at will of the Safehouse Progressive Alliance for Nonviolence (SPAN). The Development Associate supports the Development Team in executing fundraising events, forming community relationships, managing in-kind donations and database maintenance, and collaborating on marketing materials. The Development associate must also properly acknowledge and thank donors by creating and refreshing thank you acknowledgement letters through Salesforce.
Responsibilities:
Engage with local businesses, community organizations, faith-based groups, etc., to generate in-kind donations and volunteer support for SPAN's fundraising events, and holiday gift drives for clients and general purposes.
Provide logistical support for SPAN fundraising and community engagement events.
Attend community networking events representing and promoting SPAN
Must be able to assist with annual report material, Social Media Marketing.
Maintain SPAN's donor contact database with routine and accurate data entry and research. Manages all donor acknowledgements by generating weekly "thank you" letters.
Manage data entry of solicited auction items in auction item database for annual fundraising gala.
Creates social media material, posts regularly across platforms, and tracks engagement.
Qualifications:
4-year degree in Human Services or Communications preferred, or any equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Requires minimum of 2 years' experience in administrative support in fundraising, marketing or communications. Experience with donor databases and social media platforms is strongly preferred.
Must have experience with social media, such as Linked In, Facebook and Instagram.
Excellent written and oral communication skills required. Proven computer skills including Microsoft Office are necessary; Salesforce or other database experience preferred.
Knowledge of or experience working with social justice issues, specifically intimate partner, and gender-based violence, and racial, class, gender, and sexual orientation issues strongly preferred. Requires excellent organizational skills, written and oral communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize work and tasks. Requires adaptability to produce and meet deadlines in a multi-task environment with changing priorities based on projects and event deadlines. Must be able to work as part of a team.

Pay: $51, $54,000.00 per year
