Job Summary:

Our growing logistics operation in Fort Worth, Texas, is looking for a detail-oriented Inventory Control Specialist to manage and maintain the integrity of our warehouse inventory. In this critical role, you will be responsible for implementing and overseeing inventory control procedures, conducting regular cycle counts, investigating discrepancies, and optimizing inventory accuracy to support seamless operations. You will play a vital part in reducing stockouts, minimizing overstock, and ensuring that our clients receive the correct products on time. Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement, and maintain effective inventory control procedures and systems.
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventories to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
  • Investigate root causes of inventory variances and implement corrective actions.
  • Monitor inventory levels, forecast demand, and recommend adjustments to maintain optimal stock.
  • Ensure proper storage, organization, and rotation of inventory to minimize damage and obsolescence.
  • Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely to move and manage inventory.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records within the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
  • Collaborate with purchasing, receiving, and shipping departments to resolve inventory-related issues.
  • Generate regular inventory reports for management review, highlighting key metrics and trends.
  • Enforce safety regulations and ensure all staff adhere to PPE requirements during inventory handling and movement.
  • Assist with receiving and put-away processes to ensure proper inventory tracking from the outset.
  • Understand the impact of inventory accuracy on overall logistics performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing inventory accuracy and efficiency, which may involve lifting up to 30 lbs.

Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as an Inventory Control Specialist or in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software and WMS.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Experience with cycle counting and stocktaking procedures.
  • Knowledge of warehouse operations and logistics principles.
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment, including forklifts, safely and effectively.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with safety protocols, including the use of PPE.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical stamina for tasks that may require standing, walking, and occasional lifting.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus.
