We are looking for a dedicated Material Handler to join our team in Virginia Beach, Virginia. This role is integral to our warehouse operations, focusing on the efficient movement and organization of materials. You will be responsible for loading and unloading materials, operating forklifts and other material handling equipment, and ensuring materials are stored correctly. Safety is paramount in this role, and adherence to all safety guidelines, including the correct use of PPE, is mandatory. This position requires physical stamina and the ability to handle the demands of a busy logistics environment. Responsibilities:
- Move, sort, and stack materials in the warehouse.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and proficiently.
- Load and unload trucks and containers.
- Verify the accuracy of material counts and inspect for damages.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
- Assist with inventory control and stock placement.
- Follow all company and OSHA safety regulations, including the use of required PPE.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or in a similar role.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including frequent Lifting of materials up to 60 lbs.
- Certification for operating specific equipment may be required.
- Understanding of warehouse safety procedures.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced logistics environment.
- Must be dependable and have a strong work ethic.
