We are seeking a diligent Material Handler for our busy warehouse in Salt Lake City, Utah. In this essential role, you will be responsible for moving materials, loading and unloading trucks, and ensuring that products are staged correctly for the next stage of the logistics process. You will operate various types of material handling equipment, always prioritizing safety and efficiency. This position requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of warehouse operations. A commitment to following all safety guidelines, including the mandatory use of PPE and adherence to safe lifting techniques, is critical. Responsibilities:
- Load and unload materials and products from trucks and other transport vehicles.
- Move materials throughout the warehouse using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment.
- Stage materials and products for production, picking, or shipping.
- Inspect materials for damage and ensure proper handling.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures, including proper use of PPE.
- Participate in inventory counts and checks.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to supervision.
- Assist with general warehouse duties as needed.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role.
- Experience operating forklifts and other material handling equipment.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 60 lbs) regularly.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety protocols and the importance of PPE.
- Knowledge of safe lifting practices.
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
- Must be reliable and have a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment.
- Detail-oriented and committed to accuracy.
- Willingness to follow all company policies.
