We are looking for a detail-oriented Receiving Clerk to join our busy warehouse in New York City, New York. This critical role involves managing the inflow of goods, ensuring accurate documentation, and preparing items for distribution. You will be the first point of contact for incoming shipments, verifying contents against purchase orders and resolving any discrepancies. Strong organizational skills and a keen eye for detail are essential. This position is vital to our Logistics operations, ensuring that our inventory is accurately recorded and readily available. You will be expected to use all provided PPE diligently to maintain a secure work environment. This role involves regular physical activity, including Lifting and moving packages. Our commitment to employee Safety is unwavering, and adherence to all safety protocols is mandatory. The ideal candidate will be proficient in data entry and possess excellent communication skills. Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming shipments from various carriers.
- Inspect goods for damage or discrepancies against shipping documents and purchase orders.
- Accurately record received items into the inventory management system.
- Generate and process receiving reports.
- Communicate any issues or discrepancies to vendors and internal departments.
- Stage received goods for put-away or further processing.
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area.
- Adhere to all warehouse Safety procedures and wear required PPE .
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in receiving, inventory control, or warehouse operations is preferred.
- Proficiency in data entry and computer skills.
- Ability to read and understand shipping documents and purchase orders.
- Experience with warehouse Logistics systems is a plus.
- Ability to perform moderate physical work, including Lifting up to 40 pounds.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to workplace Safety and proper use of PPE .
