Optometric Technician

Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented, patient-focused Optometric Technician to join our clinical team. This role supports the optometrist in delivering high-quality eye care by performing pre-testing, assisting with patient flow, managing diagnostic equipment, and ensuring accurate documentation.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient pre-testing, including visual acuity, auto refraction, tonometry, retinal imaging, and other diagnostic procedures
• Accurately record patient histories and input data into the electronic health record (EHR)
• Assist with specialty testing such as visual fields, Optos, OCT, topography, and contact lens evaluations (training provided if needed)
• Maintain exam rooms and ensure proper sanitation and equipment readiness
• Educate patients on lens options, contact lens care, and general eye-health topics
• Support front desk operations as needed, including scheduling, insurance verification, and check-in/check-out, and daily bookkeeping tasks
• Provide exceptional customer service to promote a positive patient experience
• Comply with all clinical protocols, safety standards, and HIPAA

Qualifications

• Prior experience as an optometric or ophthalmic technician preferred, but willing to train the right candidate
• Strong communication skills and a professional, patient-centric demeanor
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Comfort with technology and EHR systems
• High school diploma or equivalent required

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From $16.50 per hour
