With a strong legacy of quality and integrity, we are seeking a result-driven and technically skilled Regional Technical Sales Manager to join our team. The primary responsibility of this role is to drive revenue growth for specialized precast product lines with a particular focus on large-scale, custom engineered, infrastructure and commercial projects. This position is ideal for an engineering or highly technical professional who thrives at the intersection of technical knowledge and customer engagement.
The ideal candidate will combine a technical background with strong business development instincts to deliver tailored precast solutions that meet complex project needs. This individual will act as a key liaison between our internal teams and external client-bringing value through customer engagement. You will work closely with project stakeholders, including contractors, engineers, architects, and internal technical teams—to identify opportunities, provide technical guidance, and deliver tailored precast solutions that meet project requirements.
This position is based out of our Yakima, WA facility, but is not geographically limited, allowing you to pursue and support projects across a broader regional market (WA and Northern ID) with possible specific opportunities in a broader geography.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Regional Sales Growth
- Identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities for specialized precast products across the assigned territory, with an emphasis on large-scale infrastructure, commercial, and municipal projects.
- Cultivate relationships with key stakeholders including general contractors, engineers, architects, developers, and public agencies.
- Develop territory-specific strategies to expand Wilbert Precast's market presence, drive sales growth, and increase brand visibility.
- Responsible for achieving and being held accountable to revenue targets.
- Managing the region. Manage schedule and priorities effectively to cover a broad geographical area while maintaining excellent service levels.
Technical Consultation & Solution Selling
- Serve as a subject matter expert on Wilbert's specialized precast products and systems, effectively communicating their benefits to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Interpret construction documents (plans, specifications, and schedules) to develop and propose tailored precast solutions that align with project goals and budget constraints.
- Provide technical sales support throughout the project lifecycle, from concept to close-out.
Project Management Support
- Collaborate with internal departments—engineering, estimating, production, and logistics—to ensure proposed solutions are technically feasible and meet project requirements.
- Monitor project progress and act as a liaison between the client and internal teams to ensure successful delivery and installation of precast components.
Customer Relationship Management
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with existing clients while actively pursuing new accounts.
- Provide ongoing communication and support throughout the design, bid, and construction phases.
- Address client questions or concerns quickly and professionally to ensure a high level of satisfaction and repeat business.
Regional Market Intelligence
- Stay informed about regional construction trends, regulatory developments, and competitor activities to identify opportunities and threats.
- Attend industry events, trade shows, and association meetings to represent Wilbert Precast and remain connected to market developments.
- Provide feedback to leadership on market needs and potential areas for product innovation or enhancement.
Reporting & CRM Management
- Maintain records of customer and stakeholder contacts.
- Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and market analyses for review by sales leadership.
- Maintain accurate records of project status, timelines, contacts, and communications.
Travel & Territory Management
- Travel within and beyond the Yakima region to meet clients, conduct site visits, attend project meetings, and participate in industry events (travel estimated up to 50%).
Experience:
- 3–5 years of proven sales experience in technical sales, product engineering, or business development—ideally in precast, construction, or industrial manufacturing
- Strong understanding of large-scale project requirements, mechanical/structural systems, and construction drawings
- PE License or EIT certification preferred
- Strong understanding of key drivers within the Precast Concrete Industry
- Experience with large infrastructure or commercial projects
- Experience working with DOTs, general contractors and or engineering consultants
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and municipal contract processes
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills
- Comfortable with regular travel throughout assigned and emerging markets, estimated at up to 50%.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; familiarity with CAD or other engineering design tools a plus
