Schedule: M-F 3pm-11pm (2nd Shift) - OT as needed, not mandatory hours) - Will train on 1st shift for 2-3 months 6am-3pm
Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled CNC Mill Machinist to join our precision manufacturing team in the aerospace industry. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience setting up, operating, and editing programs on CNC milling machines. You will be responsible for producing high-quality components in accordance with aerospace standards, ensuring tight tolerances are maintained, and using precision inspection tools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate CNC milling machines according to blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
- Edit G-code programs at the machine to optimize performance or correct issues.
- Perform part inspections using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring tools.
- Maintain tight tolerances and quality standards in line with aerospace requirements.
- Read and interpret complex blueprints and technical drawings.
- Perform machine adjustments and tool changes as required.
- Document in-process inspections and ensure all parts meet quality specifications.
- Collaborate with quality control and engineering teams to resolve machining issues.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols.
- Assist in continuous improvement efforts related to productivity, quality, and safety.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or apprenticeship preferred.
- 3+ years of experience operating and setting up CNC mills in a precision manufacturing environment, preferably aerospace.
- Strong ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints and GD&T symbols.
- Proficient in the use of micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and other precision inspection instruments.
- Familiarity with tight tolerance machining (±.0005" or better).
- Ability to edit CNC programs at the machine (experience with (insert control type, e.g., Fanuc, Haas) is a plus).
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Understanding of aerospace industry standards and procedures is preferred.
Work Environment:
- Manufacturing facility with moderate noise and exposure to machinery.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
