Surgical Technician

About the Role:

The Surgical Technician plays a crucial role in the operating room, ensuring that surgical procedures are conducted smoothly and efficiently. This position involves preparing the operating room, sterilizing instruments, and assisting surgeons during operations. The technician is responsible for maintaining a sterile environment and ensuring that all necessary tools and supplies are readily available. Minimum Qualifications:

• Completion of a Surgical Technology program or equivalent training.
• Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) from a recognized body.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in a surgical setting, particularly in specialized surgical procedures.
• Advanced certifications in surgical technology or related fields.
• Knowledge of electronic medical records (EMR) systems.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and organize the operating room prior to surgical procedures.
• Sterilize and arrange surgical instruments and equipment.
• Assist surgeons and other medical staff during operations by providing necessary tools and supplies.
• Monitor patient vitals and maintain a sterile field throughout the procedure.
• Perform post-operative duties, including cleaning and restocking the operating room.
